At First Baptist Church of Lockport we cannot stress enough the importance of discipleship. The final command of our Lord was that we make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20).
In Corporate worship we join together as a body of believers, disciples of Christ, to celebrate our unity in Christ through worship. We worship through song, prayer, giving, and the preaching and hearing of the Word of God.
Worship with us on Sunday morning at 10:45 a.m.
Sunday Morning Bible Study
Currently, all of our Sunday morning Bible Study Groups (Sunday School), meet first in the Sanctuary for a time of teaching from our Pastor on Discipleship. Following this time of instruction, we go into our Small Groups to further discuss the content of the morning’s lesson.

Our goal for the church nursery is to provide safe, secure, nurturing, clean and efficient care to each child who comes through. Our ministry responsibilities include playing with the children or directing their play, reading to them, praying for each child, and exhibiting Christ-like patience and love. Our nursery provides childcare for children under three on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
We are currently accepting resumes for a part-time student pastor. Please email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Our Men’s Ministry meets every second Thursday of the month at FBC Lockport for a time of worship through fellowship and study.
The mission of the Women’s Ministry at FBC Lockport is to encourage women to treasure God in all things by providing opportunities for growing in Christ and serving others through fellowship, discipleship, worship, evangelism, and missions. We currently host two Women’s Bible studies per year, as well as occasional social events.
On the fourth Saturday of each month our church serves as a distribution point for Second Harvest where our members volunteer to meet the needs of the community as an act of service to both the community and God. Each month we distribute over 100 boxes of food to those in need in our community. Come put feet and hands on your faith!
Nursing Home Ministry
Third Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. Come join us as we minister to the residents of the Broadway Nursing Home in Lockport. We will sing, share from God’s Word, and give them a small gift each month. You will certainly be blessed as you go to be a blessing. All ages are welcome to come!
Grace and Truth Evangelism Ministry
Every Tuesday David Robert leads a group to do Evangelism on the campus of Nicholl’s State University. They are on the campus sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ from 11-2. In addition, David hosts an Evangelistic booth at many of the area festivals. There are also opportunities to distribute Gospel Tracts during parades. Evangelism is the task of all of us! Take advantage of one of these opportunities to tell someone the best news they could ever hear.
